El Dorado Spa Resorts & Hotels, and Azul Hotels, by Karisma

Steve Gorga, President and CEO of Travel Impressions is delighted to have the opportunity to talk about one of TI’s very special hotel partners in Mexico–Karisma Hotels and Resorts.

The family vacations market is a steadily growing market that is one of the travel areas least affected by the economic downturn. We are so pleased that Karisma has placed special emphasis by providing unique family-friendly environments in its Azul hotels on Mexico’s spectacular Riviera Maya.

You’ll find three Azul properties to choose from.  The Azul Beach Hotel features 98 suites – all just steps from the sea.  Families traveling with young children will especially appreciate Azul’s Baby and Toddler Inclusive concept.  This is a “Pack and Play” program that offers Gourmet Gerber baby food, strollers, cribs, playpens, baby monitors, and more.  What could be more convenient?

For children under five years old, there is a Fisher-Price-designed play program that includes a Toy Lending Library.  And, Azul has not forgotten the grown-ups.  The hotel provides “Beach Butlers” who deliver refreshments, reading materials and tanning supplies as you lounge on king-size beach beds that gently swing.  Now that’s livin’!!

Located south of the Azul Beach Hotel, the Azul Sensatori Hotel is a 438-suite resort that includes family Jacuzzi suites for two adults and three small children, guaranteed connecting rooms, and honeymoon suites with wrap-around ocean view balconies.  This larger property offers the same child amenities as the Azul Beach, plus some added features for older children.  The “My Gym Children’s Fitness Center” features activity programs for ages 6 to 13, and there’s also a Breeze Teens Club with an interactive gaming area and lounge.  Adults can enjoy the 10,000 square-foot Zen-inspired spa and dine in the adults-only Le Chique restaurant, with its eight-course “Author’s Dinner.”

Rounding out the family-friendly Karisma line up is the Azul Villa Carola – a six-bedroom, 6-bathroom home with ocean views, a private infinity pool, an outdoor Jacuzzi for 10, dedicated staff and even a butler.   This is family vacation living at its finest, with a dining table for 12, a roll-away gas grill, brick pizza oven, wireless internet, surround sound system and a Wii console.  Located just north of the Azul Beach Hotel, guests at the Villa Carola can utilize all the amenities of the Azul Beach, including its restaurants.  But why not have a Villa Chef prepare your meals in the fully equipped kitchen, right in your home away from home?

As you can tell, when it comes to family-friendly vacationing, Karisma has thought of just about everything.  There is even a free Family & Friends Vacation Planner when you book five or more rooms for your family trip or reunion.  Included are travel planning, activities coordination and even a special dinner.  And best of all, children under three year of age stay free, while those aged three to 12 stay at half price when sharing a room with their parents.

What distinguishes Karisma Hotels and Resorts, from the rest, is its philosophy of the Gourmet Inclusive experience.  Don’t think for a minute that the word “gourmet” relates only to fantastic food – although superior cuisine is part of it.  Gourmet Inclusive is about guests savoring every aspect of the relaxing environment at any of the El Dorado Resorts and Spa Hotels.

It’s about a champagne greeting and personal check in.  It’s about lounging on a king-size beach bed where a Beach Butler serves refreshments and gourmet bites.  It’s about luxurious infinity pool suites, beachfront massages, 24-hour room service and full-time concierge services.

Karisma has four distinctive, adults-only properties along the white-sand beaches of the Riviera Maya.  El Dorado Royale, a Spa Resort, is the largest with 639 suites – many including private swim-up pools, and each featuring an in-room Jacuzzi and a private terrace with hammock and chairs.  The Mexican-themed, 20,000 square foot Casitas Spa offers a wide range of individual, couples and group treatments.  And, this property boasts the Riviera Maya’s only greenhouse on a resort property, where more than 35 different plants and vegetables are grown and harvested.  This harvest finds its way into the resort’s restaurants.  At  Fuentes, you’ll find a “culinary theater” with dishes prepared in one of five open kitchens.

Nestled along the beach in a separate, secluded area within El Dorado Royale is El Dorado Casitas Royale.  There are 169 individual suites, each featuring an ocean-view Jacuzzi, aromatherapy, a private terrace with a daybed, hammock and chairs, and an on-call Casita Concierge.  The suites have outdoor showers that allow complete privacy.  And, guests have access to all the El Dorado Royale amenities, including the spa, dining and recreation facilities, plus a seaside wedding chapel.

At Karisma’s El Dorado Seaside Suites, there are 280 suites, each offering an in-room Jacuzzi, canopied four-poster beds and a private terrace.  A special feature of this property is a new Presidential Villa suite offering an oceanfront Jacuzzi, a patio with a private Infinity pool, private in-suite dinners prepared by a personal world-class chef, and tequila and wine tastings by an acclaimed sommelier.  The resort also features five gourmet a la carte restaurants, including one serving Asian cuisine.  Couples seeking a dream destination wedding can exchange vows at the edge of the sea under a thatched-roof gazebo right on the pier or in a beach wedding gazebo on the sand.

The fourth adults-only property is Karisma’s most intimate.  At El Dorado Maroma, a Beachfront Resort, there are only 72 suites with a private infinity pool, in-room Jacuzzi and a private terrace.  These suites also feature the “Aquas del Amor” – exotic outdoor private showers open to the sky.  Guests can enjoy Kiyoko, a seafood restaurant where chefs have tableside interaction with diners and prepare the catch-of-the-day personally for each guest.  Outdoor activities are plentiful at the nearby Maroma marina, including deep sea fishing, snorkeling and diving.  And, this resort also offers a seaside wedding chapel.
