Language 95% of the hotel's associates belong to local communities and their mother tongue is Mayan. Associates in direct contact with guests speak Spanish and English as a third language. If, for any reason, you have a communication problem, you can speak to the resident manager or the person in charge of the hacienda during your stay. They are available to help you 24/7. Climate The Haciendas are located in a tropical zone, during the spring and summer months, temperatures are high and there may be brief, but very heavy rain showers in the afternoon.
• In May and June, temperatures during the day can exceed 40 degrees centigrade (104 degrees Fahrenheit) so we recommend you bring suitable clothing, drink lots of water, use sun block for outdoor activities and use a hat and sunglasses to protect yourself from the effects of the sun. Lighting The Haciendas are part of a sustainable tourism project and are committed to reduce energy consumption. Thus, for reasons of ambiance, as suggested by our designers and architects, the lighting in the haciendas is subdued. If you would like your room to be lighted with higher voltage bulbs and if you would like additional lamps to be placed in your room, let us know beforehand or on the day of your arrival. For your comfort, all of rooms have a handheld lamp which can be used during your stay in order to light up public areas.
Clothing The Haciendas is located in the middle of a tropical jungle and Mayan villages so we advise you to bring comfortable clothes and flat shoes to enjoy your stay with us. In winter, we recommend you wear a sweater or light jacket during the evening as temperatures occasionally drop below 15 degrees centigrade (59 degrees Fahrenheit).
Spa Services Please note that the Spa is also part of our sustainable tourism project and we aim to offer an authentic, indigenous service. As a result, we do not have sauna or steam bath services, or additional services such as manicure, pedicure or hairdressing.
Foreign Currency Cash Services According to the official provisions of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, hotels in Yucatan and Campeche are unable to carry out cash transactions in US dollars or in other currencies. This means that, unfortunately, The Haciendas cannot receive payments in cash or traveler checks in currencies other than Mexican Pesos. Likewise, we are unable provide currency exchange services. If you require Mexican Pesos, we recommend you change your currency at official currency exchange offices in airports.
Wildlife The Haciendas are surrounded by a tropical jungle and even though we have a very committed fumigation team, if you find any insect or animal, please inform the front desk immediately to remove it. Insect repellent has been placed in all of the rooms for your comfort.
