Originally the home of British naval officer, Ian Fleming, GoldenEye was named for a secret WWII mission. With Fleming as host, GoldenEye became the island's hot spot - where Hollywood and high society mixed and mingled. During warm, Jamaica days Fleming escaped inside his cool villa. There, he dreamed up the superspy, James Bond, and penned all 14 novels from his desk that remains there still.
Following a thoughtful expansion in 2010, GoldenEye now encompasses Fleming's original villa, the four villas built by Blackwell, plus nine new Beach Cottages, two Lagoon Cottages, six Lagoon Suites, two restaurants and the FieldSpa at GoldenEye. Lagoon Suite(*), Each of GoldenEye's six Lagoon Suites has its own oversized private dock extending 4 feet over the lagoon, and your own kayak tied up and waiting for you. With direct access to the water and an outdoor veranda, each suite is built into the natural landscape and is just steps away from Low Cay Beach. The custom-made bed faces out onto the water and overlooks Santa Maria Island. The bathroom is complete with a claw foot tub, double sinks, polished concrete countertops, and a private outdoor shower.
1 Bedroom Cottage Hoenychile(*), Honeychile is one of the original cottages at GoldenEye. The cottage offers a queen-sized bed from which you can a see straight out to the Caribbean Sea. Other features include an antique claw-foot bathtub as well as a thatched-roof outdoor bathroom and large rain shower. The living area (with kitchen) is spacious and comfortable with an oversize blue sofa in its center. Large doors open from the living room onto a private patio that overlooks the point where the sea curves into the lagoon. There, two very comfortable deck chairs await you to enjoy the sunset.
1 Bedroom Beach Cottage(*), open directly onto Low Cay Beach and the One Bedroom Lagoon Cottage onto GoldenEye's sig- nature lagoon. With a total living area of 1,100 square feet, each feature a custom designed king sized bed, over head fans, a large porch, wooden louvered windows and wide double doors. These private accommodations invite the kind of indoor/outdoor living GoldenEye is famous for.
Each cottage has a living room fit with an oversized club chair and daybed - perfect for an afternoon siesta. The bathroom has a deep, claw foot tub and double sinks as well as an outdoor shower. The kitchen features polished concrete countertops and the latest appliances from Smeg's 50's style retro line (includ- ing a fully stocked refrigerator with Jamaica's finest treats). The oven and stove-top are designed by an Italian architect.
1 Bedroom Lagoon Cottage(*), The One Bedroom Lagoon Cottages have stone decks with table and direct access to the lagoon. Bizot Bar, On the western arm of Low Cay Beach, Bizot Bar is the spot for stylish low key dining. Located just steps from the sea and GoldenEyes fresh water swimming pool, Bizot Bar serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and is especially famous for its delicious Jamaican specialties.
Gazebo, Built in the aerie, tree house-style, the newly designed Gazebo (with lounge and rest- aurant) serves up local fare with an international flavor. Overlooking both Low Cay Beach and The Lagoon, the Gazebo is the sexy, open-air spot to enjoy cocktails while watching fiery Caribbean sunsets.
In Room Dining, Room service is offered from 7am-11pm. Enjoy a rejuvenating breakfast on the veranda of your Lagoon Suite or a traditional Jamaican dinner on the porch of your Beach Cottage.
