The town of Steamboat is renowned for raising more Olympic skiers than any other place in America, so the nickname Ski Town USA® is only natural. Still, this quintessential Western ranching town has kept its old-fashioned charm despite the ski resort just down the road. Now over 100 years old, not many resort towns can match it in character.
The Steamboat resort is comprised of 164 trails, 3,668 vertical feet, and nearly 3,000 ski-able acres that receive over 325 inches of powder each winter. Steamboat’s actually a complete mountain range with six peaks, sporting breathtaking vistas and terrain that varies from wide-open meadows to challenging tree skiing. The resort also features Maverick – the longest super pipe in North America that’s 56 feet wide with 18-foot walls. |
