around Botafogo Harbor where the exclusive Rio Yacht Club is
located and show you your first sight of Sugar Loaf
Mountain. Rounding the bend, we come into Flamengo Park -
a landscaping achievement where we make a stop for picture
taking. The downtown business district is next with its
contrasts of colonial and modern architecture. You'll see
the Municipal Theater - an exact replica of the Paris Opera
House, the National Library, the fine Arts Museum and the
modern, cone-shaped Metropolitan Cathedral, where we will
stop for a visit. Return is via the Maracana Soccer Stadium,
one of the largest in the world, the Reboucas Tunnel, one
of the longest inner-city tunnels in the world, past the
Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon with its residential district and
the Botanical Gardens with its towering royal palms. |

A fine introduction to one of the most beautiful and exciting cities in the world starting at the famous beach districts of Leblon, Ipanema and Copacabana. We will visit the brand new Samba City which presents the making-of Rio's Samba Parades, where workshops turn out a steady stream of elaborate floats and costumes. The Samba Schools of Rio de Janeiro offer behind-the-scenes glimpses of the world's greatest street pageant at the largest art and entertainment complex in Brazil. Built by the Mayor's Office in the Old Rio Docklands, Samba City sparkles all year long with Carnival thrills.

HALF DAY SUGAR LOAF TOUR & BOTANICAL GARDENS
Morning departure from hotel to the one of the most beautiful and well-preserved green areas of Rio de Janeiro for an afternoon of exploring the ecological beauty of Rio. Around 6,500 species, some of them endangered, can be seen in the open and in display galleries. The Botanical Garden also hosts monuments of high artistic and historic value, as well as research center, unique in Brazil, which includes the most comprehensive, 32,000 volume library, specialized in Botanic. Upon arrival, a short briefing about the history of the Botanical Gardens and its diversity of the Brazilian and world flora, harmoniously distributed within its 54 hectares will be presented by a biologist at the historical Visitor's Center. Half Day Corcovado Tour

Including a ride through some of Rio's best beach districts,
the picturesque Lagoa residential area, Humaita, Botafogo
Harbor and the Laranjeiras sector, where the Corcovado
Railway Station is located. The ascent is via cogwheel
train, which has its final stop near the top of Corcovado
Mountain, 2,400 feet above the city and a few flights of
steps away from the 125 foot statue of Christ the Redeemer
offering an overwhelming view of the city of Rio and its

RIO BY NIGHT WITH DINNER AND SHOW
Duration: Approx 5 hours
An unforgettable evening of great food and fun that includes
an "all-you-can-eat" scrumptious meal of fine barbecued
meats, pork, sausages, chicken and turkey, served in the
unique "rodizio" style: the waiters circulate around the
tables slicing the meats off individual skewers directly
onto everyone's plate. Meanwhile other waiters are constantly
replenishing accompanying dishes of rice, French fries,
fried onion rings and fried bananas. A vast self-service
buffet of fresh salads completes the menu. Great Brazilian

CHRIST STATUE & TIJUCA FOREST

collecting passengers at their hotels, the tour will continue
to the Cosme Velho station to catch the cog train (ticket is
included)for a journey through the dense Atlantic Rain Forest
of Tijuca, to the Christ Statue on Corcovado mountain. The
guide has between 40 and 60 minutes to show the wonderful sights
of Rio. The tours continues to Sao Conrado and Pepino Beach
where the hand glider land and by noon, the passengers are
returned to their respective hotels.

SUGAR LOAF & BOTANICAL GARDEN
This tour begins with a city panoramic view through downtown
Rio, passing by the Sambodrome, the Metropolitan Cathedral,
in pyramid form, with internal diameter of 96 meters and
height of 80 meters. Get to know the traditional Cinelândia
square with the historical buildings, the Municipal Theater,
the National Library and the National Museum of Fine Arts.
By taking the Aterro do Flamengo, you will be taken to the
neighborhood of Urca where one of the largest symbols of the
city is located: the Sugar Loaf. This visit is made in two
steps by cable car. The first cable car takes passengers to
Urca Hill which is 215 meters high and from where one can
have a beautiful view from the Guanabara Bay and its islands,
the Rio-Niteroi Bridge and Corcovado Hill. After Sugar Loaf
you will visit the Botanical Gardens, a garden that holds
about 7,000 tropical species.

PETROPOLIS (NO LUNCH INCLUDED)
The city of Petropolis is located 60 km away from Rio and
it has been called the Imperial City since the Emperor Pedro
II. Settled by the Germans, Petropolis keeps the memory of
Brazilian history with its buildings and charming streets.
This tour starts with the visit to the Imperial Museum, which
has been the summer residence of the Emperor D. Pedro II and
here you can see furniture and objects such as the crown of
gold, pearls and diamonds used by D. Pedro I and D. Pedro II.
The tour will continue on the Gothic Cathedral where Princess
Isabel was buried along with the tombstones of D.Pedro II and
his wife. From there you will see the Crystal Palace, built in
France and mounted in Brazil, destined to shelter exhibitions
and great parties promoted by Princess Isabel.

Tour to Itaipu Dam
Situated on the Paraná River, Itaipu was built at the cost of USD$15 billion and is considered the largest hydroelectric installation in the world. This bilateral project is the result of a treaty signed between Brazil and Paraguay in April 1973. With the construction of the dam, a large reservoir, Lake Itaipu, was created with a surface area of 900 square miles containing 29 trillion liters of water and its shores touching on both Brazil and Paraguay. Deeply concerned with the preservation of the environment, the Itaipu Binacional Company, since the beginning, conducted all necessary investigations for adoption of measures designed to protect the flora, fauna and archeological heritage of the region and has created the Ecomuseum, the first of Latin America. The tour starts with a drive through the city of Foz do Iguassu continuing on to the Public Relations Center of the Dam located 35 km from Foz. The lower city tour takes us to the quiet waters of the Itapagipe Peninsula where the first holiday residences were built. west coast of the state, about 35km away from Fortaleza.

coconut palms offers to its visitors plenty of attractions,

journey as well as horse riding by the beach besides offering

FULL DAY MORRO BRANCO & FONTES BEACHES

We will set a time to pick passengers up at the hotel to
take them first to Morro Branco Beach. This beautiful beach
is located in the eastern seacoast of Ceara. It is about 85
kms away from Fortaleza. As soon as we arrive there, we will
go for a 50 minute walk along the colorful sand sea cliffs
(we will have the company of mini guides from the region).
There will be a short period of time for bathing on the sea
as well as on some small fresh water lakes in the area. Soon
afterwards we'll go straight to Praia das Fontes. It is
located only 5km away. We'll spend the rest of the journey
in a typical restaurant of the place. The time to return to

FULL DAY CANOA QUEBRADA BEACH

be performed beside a traditional guitarist or percussionist,

Leaving the hotels in the morning and following the BR 101
highway, after 90 km we reach the municipality of Tibau do
Sul and one of the coast's most charming spots - the beach
of Pipa. Considered to be one of Brazil's ten most beautiful
beaches, there are cliffs where part of the Atlantic Rainforest
is preserved, overlooking a chain of coves. We will visit the
beach of Cacimbinhas and the village of Pipa and its stores,
with a stop for bathing. The beaches of Amor and Baía dos
Golfinhos ("Dolphin Bay") can be reached by walking along
the seafront, tide permitting. |
BUGGY RIDE ALONG THE NORTHERN COAST
