City Tour
Get in direct touch with the town where the Tango was born!
During this tour we will visit Avenida de Mayo that runs
into the Plaza De Mayo, which is surrounded by the Casa
Rosada (Government House), the Metropolitan Cathedral and
the Cabildo (first City Hall, built during Spanish rule). At
the other end of Avenida de Mayo you find the Congress
building. Then we continue to San Telmo, one of the best
kept historical neighborhoods and eldest district of Buenos
Aires. Here we have time to stroll around Plaza Dorrego,
where you can find many antique shops. On Sundays, Plaza
Dorrego is a "MUST", as an antique market takes place there.
If you did not find the right souvenir yet, here for sure you
will find it. Next stop is La Boca, a most colorful area. On
this famous street, Caminito people will meet painters
offering their Tango pictures. Passing Colon Theatre, one
of the world's best known opera houses and the cultural
pride of the "portenos" (as the inhabitants of Buenos Aires
are commonly called), we continue to Palermo with its
beautiful parks, the City Zoo, Botanical Garden, Argentine
Horse Track and National Polo Fields. Palermo is beautiful
for its artificial lakes. At the end of the tour we will
visit the Recoleta area, one of the city's glamorous spots.
Recoleta is the rich quarter of Buenos Aires, even though it
once hosted a slaughterhouse. Here you will find the
Municipal Cultural Center, elegant boutiques and excellent
restaurants, surrounded by centennial trees. In the cemetery
of Recoleta you will find the grave of Eva Duarte who became
famous as Eva Peron (Evita). The cemetery is the center of
this aristocratic district. The more relevant personalities
of Argentina's history rest in Recoleta. The cemetery is
considered to be one of the most impressive monuments of
Argentina's past.

FIESTA GAUCHO SANTA SUSANA WITH BBQ LUNCH
By the end of the last century, an Irishman named these
lands "Santa Susana", to pay homage to his wife, Susana. The
estancia is located in the district of Campana, close to the
town of "Los Cardales", in the province of Buenos Aires. It
covers an area of 1200 hectares; mostly dedicated to
agriculture and for the last 10 years as a tourist resort.
Guests will be welcomed and will enjoy typical "criollas"
which are meals followed by a tango show and folk dances, as
well as modern melodies. The most distinctive feature will
be the guided visit to the Spanish-colonial style "casco",
which holds an authentic museum of that period.
Sulky and horse rides will show you the charm of Argentine
countryside, its scenarios, its cultivated lands and the
incomparable wild aroma. The day will end with some typical
activities of an estancia: regional games as the "carrera de
sortijas".
Please note: This tour is only available Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Tigre & Delta of the Parana River The Tigre Delta with its rivers, streams and numberous
green islands is one of the most attractive areas for
visitors. The continuous sediment of the Parana River,
which gives the river and estuary their particular
brownish-red color, forms the Delta islands. We drive
through the northern district and outskirts of the city
to get to Tigre, a charming resort where a great number
of summer residences, yachting and rowing clubs concentrate
the weekend activities of many "portenos." You will enjoy
a boat excursion along the innumerable channels of the
Parana-Delta to see some of the hundreds of islands covered
with luxuriant vegetation. The main forest is called the
white mount and is composed by ceibos (National Flower),
willows, banana trees and alamos.

DINNER & SHOW ESQUINA CARLOS GARDEL WITH TRANSFERS
While slowly growing around the supply market after which
the quarter took its name (in Spanish, abastecer means "to
supply"), "El Abasto neigbourhood" witnessed the rise of an
indisputable popular idol: Carlos Gardel. He used to wander
by the narrow and noisy streets of the neighborhood and
gather with his friends for dining, singing, etc. at Chanta
Cuatro, a restaurant that was a witness of the evolution of
Carlos Gardel as a folk singer.
Today, more than 100 years later, this same story comes back.
Esquina Carlos Gardel, located at the very same place where
Chanta Cuatro once was, offers a superb cuisine and an
exquisitely decorated ambiance that recreates the
sophistication of the most luxurious old-time dining rooms,
top level artistic proposal and a mystical atmosphere that
will lead you to experience an unforgettable night. Enjoy a
great dinner followed by Tango Show.

HALF DAY WINERY TOUR WITH WINE TASTING
This is a tour of the land tamed by man, and it includes
fine wine tasting and the opportunity to observe how the
wines are made. You will visit 2 bodegas - 1 very big and
automatic, the other very small and self made. Mendoza
produces 70% of the country's production. Up until the end
of last century, the vineyards were a home industry, but
over the past few decades they have passed cattle and
olives as one of the most important economic activities of
the region. The climate and geography of the region gave
rise to methods and results that are particular to the
area. For example, the Cuyo vines do not greatly depend on
rain but are irrigated instead with water from glacial
run off. For this reason, local wines do not differ so much
from year to year and that is why sometimes not even the
best bottles have the vintage year marked. Wine makers also
tend to mix grapes from different vineyards so it is not
possible to tell wines from San Rafael apart from those of
Maipu for instance. |

CITY TOUR WITH END OF THE WORLD MUSEUM During this tour we can spot the different aspects of the
southernmost city of the world. We will begin at the obelisk
located opposite the current Legislature. The obelisk marks
the place where the Argentine flag was hoisted for the first
time on October 12, 1884. In the same area, we find the
Plaza Civica and the 25 de Mayo Square. Along the coast can
be seen the oldest buildings in the city, such as the
Salomon family house, the Isorna House and finally the
typical and picturesque house of the Beban family.
Beached in the Ushuaia Bay, we'll see the Saint Christopher,
an old tugboat and further ahead the sailboats of the Club
Nautico of Ushuaia. We'll take the Luis Pedro Fique
causeway that divides the bay in two and enjoy the view of
Mt. Olivia and the Five Brothers Mountain on one side, while
on the other we sight see Mt. Susana and the far side of the
bay. Later, we'll sight see other neighborhoods, the
Hospital of Ushuaia and the curious imported Finnish houses.
From the centennial monument, we have a panoramic view of
the city and a part of the peninsula, the airport, the Bay,
with the Beagle Channel and the Navarino and Hoste Islands
(Chile) in the background. We will then enter downtown along
Gobernador Paz and Deloqui Streets, touring the oldest sector
of the city. We can also see the contrast between the old and
the new architecture.
We will finish our tour with a visit to the industrial
sector where there are fishing companies and several
companies that produce electronic equipment and textile
products. Finally we will visit the Museo del Fin del Mundo
(End of the World Museum). It was built in 1903 to be the
Manuel Fernandez Valdes residence, who was governor later on.
In 1911 it was taken by the National Bank for its
subsidiary, which operated there until 1978, when the
building was transferred to the museum. There are several
rooms to visit with testimonies of the natives, ancient
shipwrecks, prisoners and a collection of birds.
