Loch Ness & The Highlands Duration: One day tour

HIGHLIGHTS: Rannoch Moor, Glen Coe, Fort William, Ben Nevis, The Great Glen, Fort Augustus, Loch Ness scenic drive, Inverness, Spey Valley & Pitlochry. The Loch Ness Monster - fact or fiction? Find out on this splendid tour through the glorious Scottish Highlands.

Our journey northwards takes us through Rob Roy MacGregor country to desolate Rannoch Moor. We’ll travel through haunting Glen Coe, the "Glen of Weeping". In 1692 40 of the resident MacDonald clan were massacred in cold blood by the Campbells for not forswearing the Jacobite cause. It is said that you can still hear their cries! We’ll make a stop in this awe-inspiring place so that you can marvel at the natural beauty of the glen for yourself.

Next we travel to Fort William, which sits in the shadow of Ben Nevis. A real highlight is our drive through the Great Glen. Watch out for the wonderful loch side views as we make our way through the Glen. We will stop in Fort Augustus so that you can visit this picturesque little village - our gateway to mysterious Loch Ness. Here you can take a stroll down to the banks of the loch as well as visiting some of the craft shops that line the main street.

Our next treat is our tour along the entire length of Loch Ness. We will make a further stop, for some monster spotting, during our loch-side drive. Could that shadow be the monster?

Shortly we will arrive in Inverness. We will make a further stop so that you can discover the Capital of the Highlands for yourself. Later we will start our journey southwards through the Spey Valley then on to the dramatic scenery of Glen Garry. We’ll make a stop in the delightful Victorian resort of Pitlochry before we head for Perth then Edinburgh or Glasgow.

A wonderful day out and maybe, just maybe......
