Warsaw
Warsaw, the capital of Poland, is one of central Europe’s most
beautiful, yet underrated cities. Almost completely destroyed by Nazis
during World War II, the city has been completely restored and rebuilt.
Today, Warsaw is home to an impressive cultural scene, plentiful
museums, historical monuments, galleries, a wide variety of restaurants
and cafes and a growing nightlife. Divided into two halves by the
Vistula River, the majority of the attractions, including the Old Town,
lie on the west bank. Although much of Warsaw has been rebuilt, there
still exists buildings, castles, palaces and churches saved from
destruction, that give hint to Poland’s grand past.
Krakow
Krakow, located in southcentral Poland, is a city rich in history, art and architecture. Its best-known city landmarks are the Jagiellonian University and the Royal Castle, and it has one of the largest and most beautiful town squares in Europe.
