Chateaux Country Duration: 1 day

During the Renaissance period, the Loire valley was a favorite place of the kings of France and their courtiers. They left us many castles of amazing architectural elegance. Art and history mingle with a certain sweetness of life in this country called "The Garden of France."

Summer:
Chambord*: visit to the royal castle, one of the largest castles in the middle of a vast park. Chenonceau: guided visit to this elegant Renaissance castle famous thanks to its bridge - gallery spanning the Cher river. Lunch on your own in Amboise or Chenonceaux. Cheverny* guided visit to the furnished castle still inhabited.

Winter:
This tour includes: Chambord (visit to the castle), Cheverny (visit to the castle). Lunch at hotel Saint-Hubert. Chenonceau (visit to the castle).

*Saturdays from April to September: visits to Amboise, Chenonceau and Chambord.

Mont Saint Michel Duration: 1 day

Rocky island located in the biggest bay in Europe, the Mont Saint-Michel Abbey, rightly named "The Marvel of the Western World" is still one of the most famous pilgrimage centers since the Middle Ages and recognized as a World Heritage site by UNESCO. Drive through the green landscapes of the Normandy region. Around 12:00pm, lunch at the restaurant Relais Saint Michel, facing to mount.

Guided visit to the Mont Saint-Michel Abbey. Free time to stroll around the village. Departure at 4:30pm. On the way back, stop on the motor highway. Lunch included.

It will be with strong feelings that you will visit some of the areas where the Allies fought to recover freedom 61 years ago.

Reims and Champagne Duration: full day

The sacred town of Reims is the capital of the Champagne region and known throughout the world for its sparkling wine, champagne. Reims is also the city of coronations where most of the French Kings were crowned.

Our morning orientation tour of Reims includes a guided visit of the Gothic cathedral. At the superb Mumm Champagne cellars, created in 1827, keeping 25 million bottles, we complete the visit with a tasting of the famous Cordon rouge Champagne wine.

Free time for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy the picturesque landscape of vines between Reims and Epernay. At Epernay we visit the prestigious wine cellars of Moet & Chandon* and we taste their reputed wine.

Half Day Tours

City Sightseeing Hop On Hop Off Duration: 2.5 hours

Discover Paris using all nine of our stops. Your ticket is valid on all stops. Explore the city at your leisure by hopping on and off as you please and see Paris in your own time. You'll get a bird's eye view of the cobbled streets of the Left Bank, Notre Dame, the Louvre and of course the structure that they thought wouldn't last more than a few years - the Eiffel Tower! Take time out to explore the Paris you've been looking for; historical, romantic, fashionable, fun and shopper friendly. Tickets are valid for 2 consecutive days. The 2 hour 15 minute trip, is commented in eight languages: French, English, Spanish, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian and Chinese.

Versailles Appartments Duration: 4 hours

Versailles represents a reminder of the grandeur of classical French architecture. The extravagant decoration and layout of the entire site reflect the will of King Louis XIV, known as the Sun King. In the beautifully decorated State Apartments (Hall of Mirrors and Queen's apartments) your guide will enthral you on the life of the kings.

This tour includes:
A guided visit to the reception area of the King and Queen's apartments and free time to stroll around the palace in the famous French gardens.

Please note: In summer, when the fountains are playing (on Saturdays and Sundays and some French bank holidays), the entrance fees to the gardens are not included in the price of the tour. You can get the ticket directly at Cityrama before the departure.

Fountainebleau Duration: 5 hours

The Fontainebleau Palace, lavishly built and furnished in Renaissance period style was used as a hunting residence by the French Kings. Situated in the heart of one of France's most beautiful forests, Fontainebleu was the favorite residence of the French Kings and emperors from Francois I to Napoleon III. Napoleon Bonaparte named Fontainebleau "La demeure des siecles" (the residence of centuries) in reference to the large variety of architectural and decoration styles in the palace. This tour also includes a brief stop at the Barbizon Village located just outside Fontainebleau and a popular meeting point for painters and writers in the XIX century. Ideal opportunity for exploring the Ile de France region in greater details in terms of countryside, forests, provincial villages (eg: Barbizon) and castles used as Royal hunting residences.

We cross the southern districts of Paris as far as the Porte d' Orleans and cross the Ile de France to take the Autoroute du Soleil (motorway of the sun) as far as Fontainebleau. Our tour begins with a guided visit of the castle (Napoleon's apartments were recently restored and are included in our visit). Barbizon has been known as an artistic center since the 19th century when J-F Millet and R-L Stevenson lived there. On leaving Fontainebleau we cross a small section of the famous Fontanebleau forest before making a short stop at Barbizon still occupied by artists workshops and antique shops of yesteryear.

Cruise and Illuminations Duration: 2 hours

Cruise on the Seine river to see the main monuments, followed by a drive in Paris by motorcoach to see illuminated sights and floodlit monuments (in summer: end of tour at Opera or Pyramides Square at 11:30pm).

Note: in winter, the cruise will be done after the drive by motorcoach (end of tour at 10:15pm). In summer, a part of the tour can be done with day light before sunset.

Paris Seinorama Duration: 4 hours

A strong characteristic of the French people is the respect they have for their history and the restoration of their national monuments. The result of this preservation of the past has greatly contributed to the beauty of Paris today, with its unique perspectives, geometric squares, sculptures and monuments. This tour concentrates on showing Paris to the visitor from two different angles: above and below. From the Eiffel Tower we enjoy panoramic 360 degree views of the capital from on high. From the River Seine cruise, visitors will be captivated by an original viewing angle of the monuments and bridges from below.

We leave the Cityrama office via the Place de la Concorde, Champs Elysees as far as the Arc de Triomphe. We then drive towards the 16th district, known as one of the most prestigious and residential areas in Paris and home to the celebrated Bois de Boulogne, created by Napoleon III at the end of the 19th century. We make our first stop at the quai de la Bourdonnais and board our Bateaux Parisiens boat for a commented cruise along the River Seine. Duration: 1 hour. On leaving the cruise we catch the famous Eiffel Tower lift as far as the 2nd floor. From this point our guide will point out the principal landmarks. Possibility for clients to leave the tour at the Eiffel Tower or come back with the bus to our bus terminal.

Chartres Duration: 5 hours

Recognized as a World Heritage site by UNESCO, the Cathedral is still today an important center for Christian pilgrims, famous for its stained-glass windows and wonderful colors dating back to the 12th and 13th centuries known as the "blue of Chartres".

This tour includes:
Drive through the Beauce flat open countryside. Guided visit to the cathedral (outside visit in case of mass) and free time to stroll around.

Montmartre and Louvre Museum Duration: 4.5 hours

A village is to be found on top of the hill of Montmartre crowned by the white Sacred Heart Basilica so familiar to Parisians. Towards the end of the 19th century, numberous artists (Van Gogh, Renoir, Picasso) settled here with their families to enjoy the simple and peaceful country life. The Louvre Museum is one of the richest in the world. It is impossible to visit it all in a short time, but a guided visit will show you the highlights.

The excursion includes:
Ride up to Montmartre by coach and funicular, guided walking tour of the village and Place du Tertre, visit on your own of the Sacred Heart basilica. At the Louvre, more than one hour guided visit, amongst the many works of art you will see the Venus of milo, the Winged Victory and Da Vinci's Mona Lisa.

Wednesday and Friday: it is possible to stay on at the Louvre for the late night opening.

Mondays and Saturdays: the Louvre will be visited first before going up to Montmartre.

Giverny Duration: 5 hours

Inspired by the beautiful, peaceful and colorful countryside of Giverny, Claude Monet settled here in 1883 for the rest of his life. This tour includes: a guided visit to the wonderful flower gardens, and the famous Japanese bridge. Free time is given to visit Monet's home and former studio. The afternoon finishes with either shopping or strolling up to the Museum of American Art.
