DAY 1: Arrival to Juan Santamaria International Airport. A Swiss Travel
service representative will meet and greet you upon arrival and
will transfer you to the San Jose area. Overnight at the hotel
selected. Check in and
overnight.
DAY 2: Day at leisure to take any of the optional tours offered fromSan Jose.
DAY 3: You will be picked up in the morning at the hotel for your regular
shuttle transfer from San Jose to the Arenal Volcano area (approx.
4 hour transfer).
Lunch on own.
In the afternoon, regular guided tour to the Arenal Volcano and
Hot Springs. This active volcano well deserves a visit, not only
for its constant activity, but for its perfect cone and the
exuberant vegetation in the surrounding areas, adorned by the
majestic engineering masterpiece of the Arenal Lake. Enjoy a
relaxing scenery and the refreshingly cool alpine region. While
there you may even witness an explosion of smoke and lava from
the mighty Arenal. You will make a stop at the hot springs, an
opportunity for those who may want to take a dip in the hot water
sulfur springs that descend from the volcano. Dinner will be
served at the Hot Springs Resort. Return back to your hotel for
the overnight. Overnight at the Hotel Arenal Springs.
DAY 4: Negro. After picking you up from your hotel and bus ride for
approximately 1.5 hours, you will arrive to Los Chiles, a
culturally mixed village located only 2 miles from the Nicaraguan
border. From there, you will start the journey on a 4 hour boat
safari through the rainforest and pastureland to the huge Cano
Negro Marsh. Cano Negro is considered one of the most important
nesting sites for migrant waterfowls in Costa Rica. Our experienced
guide will bring the area alive for you, and you might see
literally hundreds of birds while you are out there. Some other
species like monkeys, iguanas, sloths, turtles and caimans can be
seen in this area.

Overnight at Hotel Arenal Springs.
DAY 5: Today you will be heading on a regular transfer to Guanacaste
area to your selected beach hotel. Check in and overnight at
the hotel selected in Guanacaste.
