DAY 1: Arrival to Juan Santamaria International Airport. A Swiss Travel Service representative will meet and greet you upon arrival and will transfer to the San Jose area. Overnight at the selected hotel. Check in and overnight.
DAY 2: You will be picked up early in the morning at the hotel. Breakfast will take place at a local restaurant on route. Ground transfer until you reach the Matina or Siquirres area dock to start your journey in a two hour boat transfer through the canals and the Tortuguero National Park. This boat ride will take you in the canals sheltered in the jungle of the rain forest. From your boat you will be able to admire the unique flora and fauna of this area. Check in and overnight at Pachira Lodge in the Tortuguero area. For the afternoon you will visit the Tortuguero Village and the Turtle Conservation Museum (entrance fee/donation to the Museum to be paid directly by passengers).
DAY 3: Today you will explore the smaller canals and get closer to nature in this beautiful National Park. Explore the little village of Tortuguero or enjoy a walk on the beach. During the months of July through September you can take the optional (extra cost) turtle watching tour during the evening to admire one of the most impressive miracles of life. Overnight at Pachira Lodge.
DAY 4: After breakfast you will be transferred by boat back to the area of Matina or Siquirres and from there continue on by a ground transfer. After lunch, at a local restaurant on route, you will be connecting with a transfer to the Arenal Volcano area. Check in and overnight for two nights at Montana de Fuego Resort in the Arenal Volcano area.
DAY 5: Breakfast at the Hotel. Morning at leisure. In the afternoon, guided tour to the Arenal Volcano and Hot Springs. This active volcano well deserves a visit, not only for its constant activity, but for its perfect cone and the exuberant vegetation in the surrounding areas, adorned by the majestic engineering masterpiece of the Arenal Lake. Enjoy relaxing scenery and the refreshingly cool alpine region. While there, you may even witness an explosion of smoke and lava from the mighty Arenal. You will make a stop at the hot springs, an opportunity for those who may want to take a dip in the hot water sulfur springs that descend from the volcano. Dinner will be served at Tabacon Hot Springs Resort. Return back to your hotel for the overnight.
DAY 6: Breakfast at the Hotel. Check out and departure in our regular transfer to the Monteverde area. Check-in and overnight at Fonda Vela. Rest of afternoon at leisure.
DAY 7: Today we will be heading to the Sky Walk property for an internal half day regular tour. Sky Walk is a complex of hanging bridges, trails and platforms built inside the cloud forest. Its main purpose is to offer a different perspective in the observation of the tropical forest, creating a new alternative for nature lovers. These bridges are designed in a way they reach all levels of the forest, until the canopy. Overnight at Fonda Vela again.
DAY 8: Today you will be heading back to San Jose on a regular transfer. Check in and overnight at the hotel selected in San Jose.
DAY 9: Regular Transfer from your Selected San Jose Hotel to Juan Santamaria International Airport.
