Mixco Viejo Full Day Tour

A military and religious citadel built around the 12th or 13th centuries defended by steep canyons and stone walls, it was one of the last strongholds of the Pocomam Mayans against the invasion of the conquistadors. A 40-mile drive or bus ride from Guatemala City takes you back hundreds of years. View stone pyramids, ball courts and other structures from the post-classical Mayan period.

Friday: Visit the colorful open-air animal market of San Francisco El Alto, the Church of San Andres Xecul and beautiful Valley of Almolonga. In the afternoon, transfer to Panajachel (Lake Atitlan) for overnight accommodations.

Saturday: After breakfast, join the launch excursion to the picturesque lake-side village of Santiago Atitlan. After lunch, transfer to Antigua for overnight accommodations.

Sunday: During the morning you will do some sightseeing of this old colonial capital and its surroundings. In the afternoon, return to Guatemala City.

Wednesday: In the morning join the launch excursion to Livingston. In the afternoon, continue to Castillo de San Felipe. Overnight accommodations will be in the Rio Dulce Area.

Thursday: Morning at leisure. After lunch, transfer by land to Flores or Tikal for Overnight accommodations.

Friday: Transfer to Ceibal for sightseeing of the site. After lunch transfer back to Flores or Tikal for overnight accommodations.

Saturday: Transfer to Yaxha for sightseeing of the site. After lunch transfer back to Flores or Tikal for overnight accommodations.
